Advanced Canyoneering Course

Course Description
This course will take your canyoneering skills to a new level. Have you ever wondered how to transition through a multi-pitch rappel? How about escape out of the deepest pot hole? Come and learn how to accomplish this advanced skills plus many more.

Skills and topics covered:
-Retrievable Anchors
-Re-belays
-Advanced anchors (knot chocks, dead-men, cairns, etc.)
-Guided rappels
-Passing knots (ascending, descending)
-Multi-pitch rappels
-Simultaneous-raps (aka simul-raps)
-Pothole escapes

Gear Requirements
Harness, helmet, rappel device, safety tether, multiple locking carabiners required. Please wear sturdy shoes, nothing open toed, as we will be hiking amongst the red rocks. Ropes and special equipment for example; talons, pot shots, etc. will be provided by the instructors.

Misc.
Come prepared to get down and dirty! Please dress for the weather and bring lunch, water and snacks on final day.
